What is Plant disease?

In general words, plant disease is when they disturb the working of the plant functions properly. Destroy the potential, minerals etc., of the plant. Its many reasons are non-infectious and include damage from air pollution, nutritional deficiencies or toxicities, and growth under less than optimal conditions. In addition, plant disease impacts the quality of the plant.

List of Plant Diseases

Powdery Mildew – Powdery Mildew is the most common plant disease that affects many plants, and it can quickly identify. A light grey or powdery spot is on the parts of the plants. Mainly it is found on leaves, but it may be on the steams, flowers, fruits or vegetables.

Most powdery mildew is very hostess specific; mildew on cucumbers will not infect roses for white, satisfactory growth on leaves and shoots. However, warm days and cool nights lead to powdery mildew development.

Remedies – Plant resistance and good healthy circulation is required to avoid shady areas.

The spray must start before mildew and fungus start. Using a dormant spray of lime sulfur will decrease the overwintering fungus on twigs. Remove and destroy infected leaves if any disease symptoms appear. To Protect plants, spray with copper-based or sulfur-based fungicide Spray every 10 days.

Black Spot – A widespread fungal disease on roses, wherever the rose cultivation this disease is common. It destroys the plant, but it leads to the loss of leaves and weakens the plant. Severely affected leaves yellow and may reduce bloom size.

Remedies – Remove infected leaves and avoid splashing leaves when watering. In spring and early summer, use a spray of sulfur or copper-based fungicide. Then, at alternate week intervals through the growing season, periodically alternatively the fungicide used.

Bacterial Canker Or Blight – Bacterial canker disease is also known as gummosis, blossom blast, dieback, spur blight and twig blight. It is a bacterial disease of cool, wet weather areas that attacks cherries, peaches, plums, apricots and related trees.

It spreads from the beginning of the spring season till June end when the weather warms up. Mostly cherry trees are affected by this disease—a numerous black spot on the fruits. Minor black marks may appear on leaves, later dropping out to leave a shot-hole appearance.

Remedies – Cut out dead twigs and cankers on large branches cutting 40 cm below the diseased area. Avoid spreading diseases and prefer cutting in dry weather. To Prevent future infection, use copper-based fungicide spray. Apply the remedies to protect the plant before the first rains in September, repeat at leaf drop and use twice more before the spring seasons.

Shot Hole – It is a fungal disease that creates small size holes in leaves, harsh areas on fruit, and concentric injuries on branches.

This disease spreads in warm wet weather infecting buds, blossoms, leaves, fruit and twigs. Leaves develop numerous small, tan to purplish spots about 6 mm in diameter that drop out, causing a shot-hole appearance. Red to purplish spots also form on the fruit and can be accompanied by a clear, gummy substance. Sticky twig and minor branch injuries also occur.

Remedies – Clear up and destroy fallen leaves and cut out and destroy infected twigs and branches. To prevent branch and flower diseases, spray with Copper Spray: Peaches after harvest and all other trees in September before fall rains start.

Black Knot – A black knot is a fungal disease of Prunus trees, including ornamental, edible, and native plum and cherry trees. Hard swollen black galls (tumour-like growths) form on branches and occasionally on trunks.

Many Prunus trees tolerate black knots. However, it has adverse effects on the growth of the tree.

Remedies – Use sulfur lime sprays during the huh season and use wettable sulfur at full bloom time to reduce plant infection.

For healthy farming, use many techniques that increase the productivity of the field that give healthy crops. Many types of equipment are used in agriculture, like tractors, implements, and pesticides, to reduce farming problems.
